Our Aftercare Programme

Recovery does not end when you leave our facilities, it evolves. At Haliford Health Group, we are committed to walking beside you well beyond your formal treatment, which is why every client who completes a programme with us receives 12 months of complimentary aftercare support.

The transition from the structured environment of residential treatment back to the demands of daily life is one of the most critical periods in recovery. Old triggers, familiar environments, and the stresses of everyday living can challenge even the most committed individuals. Our aftercare programme is designed to bridge this gap, providing sustained clinical support, accountability, and connection during the months that matter most.

Our aftercare approach is built on the understanding that sustainable recovery requires ongoing reinforcement of the skills, insights, and healthy behaviours developed during treatment. We work with you to create a comprehensive continuing care plan that addresses your specific circumstances, risks, and recovery goals, ensuring that you never face the challenges of early recovery alone.

Whether you return to your home community in South Africa or abroad, our aftercare programme maintains meaningful connection and support through multiple channels, adapting to your needs as your recovery strengthens and your confidence grows.

What Aftercare Looks Like

  • Compassionate, Client-Centred Care: Every decision is made with our clients’ best interests at heart. We walk alongside you in your recovery; no judgements, no assumptions.
  • Individual Counselling (Optional): Scheduled sessions with your counsellor, in person at one of our facilities or via video call, are available as a paid add-on for those who wish to continue individual therapy.
  • Peer Support: Weekly group sessions provide regular opportunities to connect with others in recovery, share experiences, and strengthen your relapse prevention strategies.
  • Ongoing Support: Your treatment team remains available to support you through any challenges, adjusting your aftercare plan as needed.
  • Growing Independence: As your confidence and stability grow, the frequency of contact gradually adjusts to reflect your increasing independence.
